Germany : The epicenter of Research and Creativity
What’s common to Mercedes Benz, BASF, DHL, SAP and Siemens… they are the global leaders in their field of expertise, known to spearhead research and cutting edge technologies… and what is common to all of them; they are all GERMAN companies. A country that rose like a phoenix from the ashes of the IInd World War, Germany is today the epicenter of Research and Engineering and its Education Institutions have opened their doors to over 375,000 foreign students last year.
Education at the undergraduate level in Germany is predominantly in German language thus explaining the lower number foreign students as compared to US and UK…
The Post Graduation domain on the other hand has a wide variety of programs in English as several Organizations and Companies have tied up with German Universities to not only sponsor students but to have them trained while they complete their academics. This partnership makes Germany a highly sought after destination for PG students.
Evaluate your profile for opportunities in GERMANY
Public Universities offer free Tuitions to all local and international students. You, however, need to pay a semester fee of Euro 300 – 400 per semester. Masters and Post-Graduate programs are also funded by the Government and also supported by Corporates, which makes Germany a highly sort after Academic destination.
The cost of living in Germany is slightly higher than the European norm and students can be expected to spend anything between Euro 10,000/= per year to Euro 12,000 per year to fund their accommodation, boarding, health insurance, communication & petty expenses. Germany being a centrally located country with excellent facilities for sports and other extra-curricular activities, it is prudent to make provisions for some additional expenses towards travel and leisure.
International students can work 20 hours per week and full time in summers to subsidize their cost partially. Please note that your knowledge of German language will be a key factor in determining your success in Germany.
